Here are some important upcoming dates:
February 28, Winter School Carnival; students may dress down in bright colors
March 5, 10:30 Ash Wednesday Mass at the elementary school
March 17, End of the marking period (this date was pushed back from March 10 due to snow days)
March 19, St. Joseph Day; dress down day for all students
March 21, Family Bingo
First grade is entering another sumdog competition. The competition starts Friday, February 21 and goes to Thursday, February 27. The amount of games the students can play are unlimited, however, to make it fair among all students and all schools, only the first 1000 points the children play during this week count toward the game. The percentage correct is the measure the competition uses. I will give limited homework over the next week so the students have time to get online in the evening or this weekend to play sumdog. Good luck and Go first grade!
First and second grades are hosting our class Mass Friday February 21 at 10:30 in the gym at the elementary school. All families are welcomed. The students will be singing the hymns, doing the readings, and taking up the gifts. We look forward to seeing you there!
We will be having a Valentines Day celebration on Friday. The students may give cards if they would like to each of the students. We have 16 students, 12 girls and 4 boys.
Catholic Schools Week was a ton of fun! From silly socks, to games, to Olympic day in the gym, there was a ton of fun to be had! However, we also did some great work this week, including making thank you cards for our local fire fighters for helping to keep our community safe, making thank you cards for the sisters and clergy of our parish for all they do for us, making thank you bags for our parents for making the sacrifice to send your children to Catholic schools, and doing random acts of kindness to share all the blessings we've been given! It was a great week!
