It has been a great year full of many accomplishments! The students impressed me every day of the year! Their collective reading and math skills have risen beyond expectation! They have all grown academically and socially and it has been my pleasure to witness it! I will miss them next year but I am confident they will flourish with Mrs. Hagarman! I have included a slideshow in this post with pictures of our field trip. It was a great experience! If there are any pictures from throughout the year that you would like, you can scroll down below this post. All posts from this year are still available. Have a wonderful summer!
Our last mystery reader brought more summer fun to the first grade. The carpets in the classroom had just been cleaned, so we had to do our story in the gym. The story, Amelia Bedelia Goes Camping by Peggy Parish, is a funny story about Amelia going camping for the first time and taking everything that is said very literally! She "pitched a tent" by throwing it into the bushes. She misunderstood many other sayings, making the children laugh many times! The treat ended with a giant marshmallow for each of the students. It's a very funny book if you're looking for some summer reading fun!
