The first graders have been doing some fascinating science experiments. We have done many experiments with meal worms while learning about and observing their life cycle. We have been making hypotheses and doing experiments with magnets and several other things. We have been having a lot of fun learning science!
We had a mystery reader on Friday to get us ready for Thanksgiving. She read Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano, a truly funny book about a turkey trying to avoid being Thanksgiving dinner. After the story, our mystery reader shared cupcakes with the students.
This past Friday we had a dad come be a mystery reader. The students get so excited when the mystery reader is coming down the hallway and no one knows for sure who it is! Our mystery reader read "This Monster Needs a Haircut" by Bethany Barton and handed out monster cookies. The students had a great time!
The first graders had lots of Halloween fun! We turned each other into mummies, we played musical chairs, and watched Curious George Halloween while having some great snacks. It was a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who sent something in for the party!
