As part of our social studies, we are currently learning about how different countries celebrate the holiday season. The students are enjoying getting out their "passports" and "visiting" these other countries. So far, we've been to Israel and Australia. We've learned how to play the dreidel game and how it's hot in Australia for Christmas, so many people celebrate at the beach. We have been learning to add and subtract numbers above ten in math and we have been learning about suffixes and digraphs in phonics.
We've also had some fun events recently. Our prayer partners watched the Peanuts Thanksgiving with us and we had snacks. St. Nicholas came and left candy canes in our shoes on St. Nicholas Day, and the students all looked great on Country Western Day.
