While not a lot of traditional school work was done during Catholic Schools Week, rest assured we did a lot of learning interspersed with a lot of fun! On Monday, we made thank you cards for our local firefighters as an act of service for our community. We also did a lot of learning about fossils and dinosaurs (see pictures and a post about this below) and the Delone Squire visited. On Tuesday, our dress like a minion day, we celebrated our 100th day of school. We did a lot of math work in unusual ways using the number 100 (pictures are in the post below this post). On Wednesday, we had minion games in the gym, where each class and the teachers got to split into teams and compete in a minion game. First grade did two games with the rest of the school cheering them on. They carried apples between their knees while doing a relay race and they played leap frog. The teachers had to keep a balloon floating in the air while putting on minion clothes. It was tons of fun! On Thursday we bused to the middle school to have lunch with our parents. Since many students did not return after lunch, we played on the iPads and in the gym for the rest of the day. On Friday, we welcomed parents into the classroom during guidance and our daily phonics lesson, we celebrated Mass, and we watched Despicable Me 2 in the gym.
