We had a pair of mystery readers for one of our students. On the first scheduled day, our special student was out sick but the mystery reader still came in to surprise the class, so a little while later, another special reader came in. The first special guest read Sarah Raccoon and the Secret Place by Margaret Burdick. This is a story about a raccoon who desperately needs to find a place of her own, away from her noisy twin brothers, but in the interest of keeping that secret place her own, she hurts a friend's feeling. She feels bad and eventually finds herself in a position of needing that friend. Our second mystery reader read I Love You Mommy by Jillian Harker. This is a story about a little bear that can't wait to get out on his own to experience the world. He is so excited to get out, he has no time to listen to mamma bear's advice, but soon finds he needs mamma bear to rescue him. Both readers brought goodies for the students. Mystery readers are the best!
