First grade celebrated Pumpkin Day as part of our Fall lessons. We learned a lot about pumpkins and recorded our observations when doing experiments with our pumpkins. We learned the life cycle of the pumpkin from seed to decay and we learned all of the different parts of the pumpkin. We got our hands dirty, but it was fun! In the end, we carved jack-o-lanterns and had fun mimicking them and everyone got to take home a pumpkin.
