The past few weeks have been so busy, but full of exciting learning opportunities. We had so much fun celebrating Halloween with an eventful Halloween party, where we turned our classmates into mummys, played musical chairs, and had great snacks. In science, we've studied why leaves fall from the trees and the differences between the four seasons. In language arts we are learning how to construct meaningful statements and questions and in phonics we are learning more digraphs and suffixes. In math, we are adding using many different tools and strategies.
This month, we have also learned a lot of about the election process and Veterans Day. We even had an election at school where the students registered to vote and then voted for President of the United States. Donald Trump and Mike Pence won in both the first grade and the school. We had three big winners in our class for the Wolfgang candy sales, the third place winner for the whole school, and two top sellers for our class.
We have had several mystery readers and the students are really enjoying this program. If you don't have a date scheduled yet, please email me and we can set one up!
