Here is what we've been working on
Phonics: We worked on trigraphs this month. We also added more suffixes to our list that we know and we worked on the vcv pattern.
Reading: We read the fiction story "Click, Clack Moo, Cows That Type" and we read the non-fiction story "Ah Music". While reading the last story, we talked about how reading fluently sounds so much better than reading with choppy, flat sentences. We are also working hard on on learning how to answer questions using text evidence.
English and Grammar: This month we continued working on verbs, adding future tense verbs to the mix.
Math: We began subtraction with regrouping. So far, everyone is picking up on this pretty quickly. I am happy with the students' progress.
Science: This month we began talking about our earth.
Social Studies: We talked about Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day, and President's Day. We also talked a little about Black History month. .
Religion: We are learning all about the parts of the Mass. We know all 5 parts of the Introductory Rites, and the 8 parts of the Liturgy of the word. For fun, ask your child if they can name them for you. :-)
No birthday this month
