Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating with family and friends. Let's all just take a little time to step back, breathe, and enjoy some peace and love. We had an exciting month of December with so many fun activities and special events. We celebrated St. Nicholas Day, did our First Reconciliation, participated in the Christmas show, watched the Los Pasados parade, and had a visit from Santa. We also had tons of food, fun, and treats at our Christmas party. Quite a way to end 2018!!
Important dates and Reminders
Here is what we've been working on
Phonics: We worked on more diagraphs, dipthongs, ghost letters, and suffixes.
Reading: We read the story "Super Storms"..
English and Grammar: We began talking about verbs and wrote a letter to Santa and a fictional Christmas story.
Math: We finished up our chapter on place value and began working on double digit addition without regrouping.
Science: We continued to talk about habitats this month. We also learned about food webs and food chains.
Social Studies: We spent most of our month talking about and celebrating the Christmas season.
Religion: Hooray! We did it! First Reconciliation is officially completed. Everyone did a fabulous job and boy did we feel good when all our sins were forgiven! We will have another penance service during Lent. We also talked a lot about the season of Advent this month and of course about the story of Jesus' birth.
