What we did this week:
English - Drafted/edited Personal Narratives
Religion - Holy Matrimony
Lots of IOWAs!
We worked hard this week on our IOWAs testing. I tried to sneak in warm-ups before every section and even a few sweet snacks for the students to munch on while testing. I know everyone was glad when I told them to "close your test booklets and put down your pencils" for the last time. I bet the sigh of relief was heard for miles!
We had a wonderful end to the week with the Race for Education (with GREAT weather! See the website for photos), an extra sweet treat at lunch, extra recess in the PM, decorated the schoolyard with chalk, a movie, and art class!
The students are bringing home a permission slip today for our upcoming field trip! We will be going to the Whitaker Center on Thursday, May 15th. The cost is $20 and everyone will need to pack a lunch. More details in the coming weeks. If you are interested in chaperoning, let me know through an email or send in a note with your child. I RSVP'd us for 10 chaperones, but if we are a little higher or lower than that number, I can make adjustments. Cost is the same for adults. All permission slips & monies are due April 30th.
Monday: Bring in an empty plastic bottle. Can be small (16oz) or up to 2 liters. Clean & dry with lid please. Extras? Send those in too. I have a feeling some might forget...
