Please stay tuned for a week of BUSY CSW plans! We'll start off with Sunday at our Opening CSW Liturgy and Monday as our 100th day of school this year. See the schedule that was sent home for our daily events, activities, and what to wear.
This PM, we were a little sidetracked and didn't yet start our Math project with the grocery ads. So if you happen to have more lying around, they can come into school Monday too!
In lieu of regular lessons next week, I have fun (I hope) projects planned for each subject area. The math & science projects will be graded, some others for fun.
Speaking of grades, I just did a big update in the portal of all of our grades. This also includes a surprise copybook check today, today's much anticipated Religion POM test, and the SS study guide packet that was due today.
Monday - Jan Bk Report & Rdg Log due
Wednesday - SS CE
Verb Test (Or Thursday)
Thursday - Spanish HW due
Penny Wars and our red/white/blue food drive are next week as well! Have a great weekend! God Bless You!
What fickle weather we've been having! No worries, we are rolling along with our schedule in 5th grade.
Next week, we'll be doing some CSW prep and wrapping up our studies on our large unit for Parts of the Mass. The best study tool the students could use would be attending mass. We'll be doing some final reviews this week. I hope you've seen our color card collection grow as we've been working through each section.
We'll also soon be working on a math project and we could use some donations of food store ads. I'm looking for food with prices as decimals, so ads that promote sales such as 25% off or 2 for $4 won't work for us. We'd like prices like $1.49 and $6.79. Please remove ads for alcohol and or tobacco products.
Our Spelling Bee will be next week. We will also wrap up our studies on the Ancient Hebrews. This is just in time for us to begin Greece and coincide with the start of the Olympics!
Thursday: SS Ancient Hebrews Test
Friday: Rel POM Test
Everyone will receive a grade for the Spelling Bee. This is not solely based on their performance, but also sportsmanship, cooperation, self-control, and patience. Any of these inappropriate behaviors or speaking when it is not your turn will dock your grade.
We are still on an every Friday schedule for test packets. They should be signed and returned within 2 school days.
Have a great weekend! Think warm thoughts! God Bless You!
We spent some SS time yesterday and today learning about the profound impact MLK had on the country along with his hopes, dreams, and aspirations for our future. We worked on a project highlighting his best accomplishments. I reminded the students that Monday is not only a day off, but a day of service in honor of his life. I also have asked them to write their own version of the "I Have a Dream" speech. This is a graded SS HW assignment and I'll collect it on Tuesday. It doesn't necessarily have to be race-related, but can simply focus on what we could all do to try to make our school, community, state, country, or perhaps our world a better place.
Monday - NO SCHOOL
Tuesday - MLK HW Due
Wednesday - SS CE Due
SS Ch 6 Less 1-2 Quiz
Thursday - Spelling Less 12 Test
Friday - Religion Ch 10 Test
Have a wonderful weekend! See you Tuesday! God Bless You!
