Hi Parents,
Just in case you were wondering... 19 days left!!! I've been laying it on pretty thick this week how this isn't the time to "throw in the towel" in the classroom. I've had a few conversations with students this week if I had concerns about subject area averages. If your child is one of them, I wrote their current % in their assignment book this week. I've offered a few opportunities for EC, but students need to show initiative to pick them up, complete them well, and return them in a timely manner. We are very proud of our Junior Band members in 5th! Lia, Enrique, and Zac really made us proud and did a great job representing SJS as they completed 2 band tours! Way to go! This coming Monday, we will be participating in a Critter presentation, so students may dress down on that day. Next Week: Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday - SS CE Due Thursday - Rdg - WLT #18 Friday - Spelling Lesson 23 Math Mult & Div Frac/Mix #s Test Have a great weekend! Maybe the coming warm weather will decide to stick around this time! God Bless You!

Hi Parents, Today we watched a video about Jesus's Passion/Holy Week/Resurrection. We learned about the Jewish feast of Passover and the meanings behind the specially chosen food items for the Passover Seder. Mrs. Pugliese announced the winners of the 8th grade's March Madness project that almost the whole school voted in week after week. ============================= and the winner is........ I Want It That Way! Interesting results: Teachers/staff and grades 3 - 8 who voted using Google Form: ALMOST 50/50 47 I Want 51.1% 45 U Can't 48.9% ============================= Below are some of the finished products of homemade comics we've been working on this past week. These were inspired by our most recent Reading story "Lunch Money." The main character, Greg, designed, created, and copied his own work to sell to schoolmates. While our class wasn't allowed to profit from their work, we did exchange quite a few today. Your child should be coming home with a new collection to add to his/her bookshelf! I don't think the kids are too bummed, but as we finished the story, I said their Easter break gift was no WLT for this story! And we couldn't go away for another holiday break without "It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown." I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Easter Break! When we come back, we are really into the home stretch! God Bless You! |
