If you haven't already heard, we had a little visitor yesterday...Avalyn stopped by! She enjoyed seeing the kids in the cafeteria and playing with them at recess. She shared some of her favorite tunes: "Humpty Dumpty" and "Itsy Bitsy" with the class.

Back into the hustle and bustle of things here at SJS! I know this is cliche, but this really felt like the fastest summer vacation yet! We've been so busy taking care of so many things this week. I'm surprised we got in everything that we needed to do. We've been over many rules, procedures, schedules, new texts and workbooks, copybooks and folders, supplies, jobs, drills, etc!
We've started our first story in reading, previewed the first spelling list, and hopped right into some basic math review.
Thursday: Spelling - Lesson 1 Test*
Religion Ch 1 Test
Friday: NO SCHOOL
* The student spelling book we are using only prints words #1-20, but we will have 25 words/week. I will post these on the 5th grade webpage so they can be retrieved/studied. The students also write them in the spelling books at the beginning of each week. Each school week with 4 or 5 days, we will have a spelling test at the end of the week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
