We've completed our last productive week of 2015! We've had fun Christmas crafts with our class and some great helper parents. Also big thanks for all the tasty snacks and supplies you sent in. We also had time to work with our 1st grade prayer partners and wish them a good holiday. We've learned about Hanukkah as it relates to the Jewish culture we've been studying in Social Studies. We're just past halfway through our study of the Mass. The students and I have [begrudgingly] kept up our count of how many days late the state budget is: today is 171. (We are deeply disappointed in our legislators.) They have thoroughly enjoyed bringing in coins and dollars for our penny wars. (Monday is the last day: 4th is currently in 1st place) Today we learned about Mother Theresa and the great news that she will be canonized next September. Busy busy busy.
Monday is a full day of school and Tuesday is a half day. Teachers will have all students in the gym shortly after 11:00 to begin dismissing as our car line will be enormous that day.
The following dates are for when we return to school in January:
1/5 Tuesday: December Bk Rep & Rdg Log Due
1/7 Thursday: Religion Ch 9 Test
1/8 Friday: Spelling 13 Test
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and blessed New Year 2016 with family and friends. I'm looking forward to several upcoming Christmas celebrations as well as waking up for Wyatt's first Christmas morning! I'm sure Avalyn will get everyone up nice and early!
