What we did this week:
Reading: Story -The School Story
Focus Skill: Making inferences
Math: Order of Operations, prime & composite numbers
Religion: Conscience to make good choices
Thanks to the snow days and delays we were limited to what we could accomplish this week. We squeaked in a few 100th Day of School activities yesterday, but it went quickly. We put ourselves on paper bags like what we would think we would look like as 100-year-olds. In the bag on index cards, the students were challenged to write 100 things they've learned so far this school year. Then, we went to the computer lab and researched 100 way to say "Thank You" to God in different languages and filled a poster with what we found.
Today we started working with prime and composite numbers and used calendars to do so. Although some wanted to look at the cute puppies and kitties on the calendars, we tried to remain focused on the numbers. Next week, onto factor trees! Let's pray for some normalcy in our schedule.
We've been better with adhering to the uniform code this week, but remember school shoes should be brown, black, or navy blue leather. No pink please.
Wednesday: Spelling Less. 16 Test
Rdg - WLT "The School Story"
Lesson 16 Challenge Words:
Something may "pop" up in English...
If you send in/your child makes Valentines for the class on Friday, please:
1) Make sure there are 22 - enough for all students
2) Do not individually address as these take too long to deliver. Students should fill in "From" only.
3) I'm going to bring in cupcakes, if a few parents could volunteer to send in juice boxes, plates, or napkins, that would be wonderful. Email me back or send in a note if you could do one of those. We will have these snacks after lunch on Friday.
Who knows what next week will bring as far as weather goes. The word "snow" is now outlawed in the classroom. All snowflake decorations have been removed and replaced with hearts. Hopefully, this will help. Think warm thoughts. 40 days until Spring....
Have a wonderful weekend!
