What we did this week:
Reading: Reader's Theatre - The Compassion Campaign
English: We shared our Personal Narrative writing samples with the class
Math: Multiplying fractions
Religion: The Passion, Holy Week & Passover Seder
Thank you so much for all the goodies you sent in for our events this week. The recycled bottle piggies turned out super-cute! In Spanish class, students chose between painting chicks or an egg with painters tape and chalk. The students had a great time at our Passover Seder meal even if we had to improvise on some of the traditional items. Today was a nice treat to dye real eggs with the class and then an egg hunt outside thanks to the nice weather. We came back into check out the treats and relaxed watching Charlie Brown Easter until it was time for gym. Oh, and a bit of classroom clean-up as well. Check out the website for some photos from this week.
Also, big thanks for the wonderful birthday surprises today! The students brought in balloons, streamers, whistles, a cake, cupcakes, chips, cookies, etc! Wow-wee! What a nice way to begin the next year! I'm sure my family will enjoy sharing some of the extra goodies I have to take home. Today is also Pope Emeritus Benedict's birthday so please say a prayer for him. I told the class, he is a little bit older than me though. :)
