November is here and we are almost done the first trimester! That went fast! Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving, then Advent, and anxiously awaiting Christmas celebrations. We'll try to enjoy "the calm before the storm" and be as productive as possible.
Our food drive is off to a great start! We've already amassed a collection of 33 cans of green beans! Remember, we'll be collecting these through the 18th.
We've had time to get in lots of writing this week in our journals. The kids had a good time - with great imaginations - with the prompts I gave them. Some were inspired to write several page long stories even though I tell them the goal is 1/2 pg per entry. A few even asked to take them home over the weekend! Emerging authors we have here!
Our class is LOVING the unit on Egyptian culture. I hope they share the enthusiasm with you when studying at home as well. :)
Mr. Colgan gave everyone scripts with music for the talent show. We will practice these during classroom free time, but students are also welcome to bring them home for practice too. A few 5th graders have speaking lines to memorize, but all students should be learning the songs.
Day 129 of the budget impasse, but we trudge along with our worksheets....sigh....
Tuesday: Religion Act of Faith Test
Wednesday: Science Ch 2 Test
Friday: Spelling 9 Test
Have a great weekend!
