We had a nice lesson today about the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and how he truly changed the history of our nation. We watched a video about how life today might be so very different without his bold and courageous actions. We learned that Monday should not only be a day to be happy we are getting a break from school, but truly a day to show kindness and respect through service. We will work to make Dr. King so proud!
This week we've continued to prepare for all the fun events planned for Catholic Schools Week! Our theme is "Jesus is My Superhero!" Be on the lookout for more information next week.
We are doing a project with our Prayer Partners next Friday that requires old magazines/newspapers to cut up. We have some at school to use, but if you have any you are done with, don't need back, and contain school-friendly content, we'll take them!
Please sign and return Progress Report envelopes. These went home on Wednesday and I'm still missing about half of the class. Sign the white slip on the inside if you need a printed copy.
Also, Test Packets are still coming home every Friday. Please ask your child to give it to you if they do not offer it.
Our American Heart Association fundraiser has been going for just over a week now. Here is the link to our school page: http://www2.heart.org/site/TR?pg=company&fr_id=3995&company_id=187496 There is still plenty of time to sign up to take a "Heart Healthy Challenge" and collect donations to support those of us who are not lucky to have a healthy heart.
Monday: NO SCHOOL
Tuesday: Religion Ch 9 Test
