Hi Parents,
Our final March book report has been posted in the Google Classroom. The students will write a letter to the author of the book they read. There are needed components to the letter as outlined in the posted assignment. This is due on March 31. Our G&G SS project got started today. Students were to come to school with their top choices. We picked our topics and got started with our research. All researched info will be organized and presented in a file folder for the format. (Glued/organized inside, not just papers inside a folder.) There is no due date for this yet as I want to observe our progress in the classroom. Students are also allowed to work on their research at home if they choose to do so. By mid next week, I hope to have more firm plans for a due date. I like to stand in the back of the classroom and keep an eye on student screens, trying to keep giggles due to Greek artwork to a minimum. I've been reminding them that the only image they should need is for their cover and that should be the last thing they are worried about right now. If you can, trying to peek over your child's shoulder during this research at home wouldn't be a bad idea. We ended our day with some circle writing by the prayer garden. It was perfect weather! Ask your child to explain the procedure. :) Then, we came in and watched some of the Disney Hercules movie and tasted some Greek foods - actual Mediterranean olives, black (California) olives, green grapes, and Gouda cheese (Netherlands - eh, close!). We had mixed reactions about the olives, but the cheese and grapes were a hit! Monday - Fri 3/18 Math HW due Tuesday - Wednesday - Rel Ch 15 Test Thursday - Friday - Spell Less 18 And yes, the rumors are true. I did give one page (6 problems) of math HW tonight. I told the class this is middle school prep. And they did so well with the independent practice page we did in class today, I'm confident it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes tops. Have a great weekend! Happy St. Joseph Day! And yippee -- finally --- Happy Spring!!! God Bless You!
