I wanted to start off this newsletter giving credit to a few students who have accepted the responsibility of doing PM prayer for all classes since the start of the school year. We began alphabetically and each student says prayers daily for 2 weeks. At the end of their assignment, they train the next student. Big thanks to Kerstyn who graciously accepted this job the first day of school! Abby and Justin have followed well in her footsteps. Cole is up next! Everyone will get a chance and perhaps some a second chance towards the end of the year.
All conference time confirmation time slips have been stapled into your child's HW books. Feel free to remove these for your own records. If you need to change/cancel, please let me know asap.
SJS Student Council met for the first time this year on Wednesday. We have 2 class representatives, Chinoyerem and Adam, who came prepared with ideas and thoughts from students K-5 they polled. I think there are some fabulous plans in the works! We will change representatives every 3 months.
As of next Thursday, we are halfway through the first trimester! Wow! This means "Progress Reports" are on the school calendar. Several people have emailed me with concerns that they cannot see their child's grades. I assure you I have imput all the grades I have thus far. Mrs. Scott is aware of the issue and is working on it, but I believe the problem is rooted in the MMS system, not necessarily something the school can fix. If this persists into next week, I believe the plan is to print everyone a copy here at school and this will come home Thursday. Oh the joys of "technology!"
