This week we had a beautiful Christmas program to kick off the week. I'm so proud of our class who came and sang out so beautifully. Great job to those who took on the added responsibility of being a cast member in full costume or helping with a solo! You make us proud! We were also able to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation this week on Wednesday. I told the class their souls looked a little "extra shiny" when we walked out of church!
In Religion, we've begun our studies on the Parts of the Mass. Students have a variety of ways to study/review for this unit: highlighting in religion books, notes in copybook, color-coded flash cards, a mass-booklet we assembled, and of course, good ol' fashioned going to mass with your family. In Math class, we are starting to get into the wonderful world of decimals. In Social Studies, we are moving into a unit on the Origins of Judaism, Hebrews, and Israelites. In Science, in 2019, we'll be starting Life Science.
Next week, we are planning our Christmas Party for Wednesday. Please see my prior message copied and pasted here in case you missed it.
Tis the season! We are planning our Christmas party for Wednesday, December 19th from 1:00-2:30 and I wanted to send an email to see if anyone would be able to send in some goodies for the students to enjoy and/or come in as a volunteer. My plan is to have us work on a homemade nativity scene as a craft, play a game, and eat some goodies while enjoying Charlie Brown and his Christmas story.
It would be great if the volunteers (I'm looking for 2-3) could bring a hot glue gun, but I have one of my own to use as well. I would request you to be at school at 12:50 and plan to stay until the end of the school day. Please remember all volunteers need to have school approved badges.
The snacks I'd suggest are items like popcorn, pretzels, cookies, fruit, juice boxes or water bottles. We'll also need plates, napkins, and perhaps plastic silverware depending on food items.
I'd like to plan a gift exchange as well. If your child would like to participate, they should bring in a $1-2 wrapped gift that would be appropriate for a girl or a boy. These can come into school starting Monday 12/17-19. I will begin a collection for our gift exchange/game.
The items that have already been volunteered are: pretzels, juice boxes, bottle water, cookies, napkins, Hershey Kisses, plates, and candy canes.
Thank you for all your donations to our celebration!
