We started our week with the Bishop's Closing address on Monday. He reminded us that summer is a break from school, but not a break from learning and certainly not a break from God. We also had a chance to ask questions during the live meeting and he answered questions from 2 of our classmates: Nolan and Teagan - we were thrilled!
On Wednesday, we were sad that our Field Day was postponed because of the rain, but we made the best of things and were able to enjoy our field day games with Mrs. Bortner on Thursday during a longer gym class instead. We've been learning the importance of flexibility this year so this was good practice in that skill.
Today was the due date for the Extra Credit I offered on Monday to anyone interested. This was offered for Science and Social Studies. After reading a new lesson, students were to complete ALL review questions at the conclusion of the lesson with complete sentences and a minimum of 90% accuracy. If your student completed this successfully, you will see this noted in each of those classes in the portal. If your student didn't complete this EC or it was incomplete, the grade is marked E for "Exempt."
Today we also had a fun afternoon watching the vows from the wedding of William and Catherine. In light of our current event projects this year, we talked about the Royal wedding that will be tomorrow. We talked about some British culture and the fashion of guests wearing fascinators. We even tried to make our own. I told the class they'd have a great time waking up before sunrise tomorrow to put on their headpiece and enjoy watching history!
Have a great weekend! I'm hoping the sun is planning on coming out!
