Book It has started! Each student's daily goal is 20 minutes. These minutes are to be tracked each day on the monthly calendar. Calendars should be in school mid-month and at the end of the month so we can track our progress on the Book It website. Also, there is a book report due the last day of the month that we are in school from October-Marc
What we did this week:
Reading: Story - Nellie Bly
Spelling: Lesson 6
English: Singular and Plural Nouns, Possessive Nouns
Religion: Finished Baptism (Ch3), Began Confirmation
Science: Life Science - Bill Nye Body Systems Video, Test Review, Test
SS: Earth's Landforms - On land and under the ocean
If you are coming in for a conference tomorrow, I have your child's test packet for this week. You can take this with you when you leave. ALL students are coming home with a progress report today. If you would like to sign and return the envelope during your conference time, that is fine.
Due to us being so busy this week and another short week coming up, we will only have a CE assignment due on Wednesday and a SS Ch 2 Less1-2 Quiz on Thursday and Spelling Lesson 7 Test on Friday.
Next Friday, we were scheduled to have our class mass. There was a slight change of plans and this is now a school liturgy (that the 5th grade will still plan for and prepare). This is because Monsignor Lyons wanted to have a mass in memory of Mrs. Mummert's mother and it would be special to offer up this mass as a school family. Mass will be in the gym, same time, 10:30. We hope you can join us.
* Between October 21-23, each student should bring in a pumpkin for an in-school project. It should be approximately the size of a soccer ball. (I mentioned this in class last week and a surprise pumpkin came in today. Oops! Too early! I'd love to be able to have them come in earlier as nice fall decorations, but funny thing... the pumpkins do not usually enjoy being in the warm, heated classrooms and school building. They don't fair too well. Yes, I've had some squishy ones in the past so please use the turn-in dates listed above.)
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the treat of warmer fall weather!
