What we are working on:
Phonics: This month we learned the letters "Bb", "Uu", "Cc" and "Zz". We also talked again about the K/C rule and when to use which letter at the beginning of a word.
Reading: We continue to read stories that include our learned sight words and our decodable words. We are also doing small reading groups as well.
Grammar: We learned about verbs in the past tense this month. We also learned that all sentences begin with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark.
Math: We worked on counting all the way to 100 using both ones and tens. We are also working on decomposing numbers 1-10. This is in preparation for addition that is coming up soon.
Religion: This month we learned how Jesus is our good shepherd and we are his sheep. We know how much God loves us and He wants us to find ways to show that love to others. We learned about many different types of feelings and we talked about forgiveness.
Science & Social Studies: We spent time talking and learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We also spent time enjoying some winter time activities, and learned about penguins.

Check out what kindergarten has been up to!!
This month we said goodbye to our fabulous classroom aide, Miss Nancy. Since she is now going to stay home and babysit her new granddaughter, we decided to send her off with a baby shower of our own! We also had fun this month doing some indoor winter activities like ice skating and snowball fights.
Welcome to Kindergarten!
