Ahoy, Mateys!  Preschool Pirate Week Be Filled With Tons of Fun!

Terrific Threes

We hope everyone enjoyed Pirate Week as much as we did!  We tried some new activities this year and had so much fun!  We played "Shark Attack" to practice identifying colors and shapes.  Our fingers got a workout gluing shapes into our treasure chests.  Of course, the Pirate Dance Party and obstacle course were a huge hits!

In religion, we learned that we can feel.  Mostly, we use our hands to feel, but we can feel all over our bodies.  God is good to give us a way to enjoy the warm sun, soft pajamas, and cold ice cream (just to name a few).  Having a sense of touch is also good because it can help to keep us safe.  Next week, we will complete our "I Can Feel" unit with some messy fun!

We completed our yellow color activities.  We completed a new activity this week which involved following directions carefully.  We also made yellow bracelets.

Next week is all about apples and Johnny Appleseed!

REMINDERS:
  • Snack fee for August and September is now due.
  • Please only send your child in clothes that they can independently use the bathroom in.
  • According to our school handbook, children who have had a fever, vomited or had diarrhea should not return to school for 24 hours after symptoms have subsided without medication.  Please keep this in mind as cold and flu season are quickly coming upon us!

Fantastic Fours

We hope everyone enjoyed Pirate Week as much as we did!  We tried some new activities this year and had so much fun!  We played "Shark Attack" to practice identifying colors and shapes.  Our fingers got a workout gluing sequins to make our pirate hats.  Of course, the Pirate Dance Party and obstacle course were a huge hits!

In religion, we introduced our "God Made Helpers" unit.  We can be helpers too!  Ask me how I can help at home!

We completed our letter B activities and introduced the letter C on Friday.  Next week, we will complete a fun art project and learn more about the letter C.

REMINDERS:
  • Snack fee for August and September is now due.
  • Please practice putting on and zipping jackets.  The weather is going to turn cooler soon.  The more the children can do this independently, the faster we can get to recess!
  • On Wednesday, children are invited to wear a cap to school as we are learning about the letter C.
  • On Friday, children are invited to dress as a helper.  This can be anyone who helps others in the community.  Please save princess and super hero costumes for Halloween!  While many of these characters do help others, we want to celebrate helpers in our everyday lives.
  • Please return Parent-Teacher Conference forms ASAP.
  • According to our school handbook, children who have had a fever, vomited or had diarrhea should not return to school for 24 hours after symptoms have subsided without medication.  Please keep this in mind as cold and flu season are quickly coming upon us!
