I can hardly believe we only have 2 more weeks of Preschool until summer break!  They year went so quickly and I am proud of how well the children handled the many challenges we faced this year.  I hope everyone has a relaxing summer and look forward to seeing everyone for the start of our school year in August!  Thank you so much for sharing your children with us this year!
FANTASTIC FOURS
  • Religion – We have learned about so many wonderful things that God made this year!  Most recently, we have been learning about the large and small creatures God made.
  • Literacy – We have completed our alphabet!  For the remainder of our time together, we will be reviewing literacy skills: letter and sound identification, writing the letters of the alphabet, rhyming, syllables, opposites and sequencing.
  • Math – We’re continuing to review counting to 30, identifying numbers 0 – 20, ordering numbers 1-10, creating patterns, and putting two numbers together.
  • Science – Along with our religion units on the small things and butterflies that God made, we have been raising caterpillars and observing the life cycle of butterflies.  Our tiny caterpillars are beginning to emerge from their chrysalises. Our classroom code is Shamrocks34.  Our flowers are doing great and are growing quickly, thanks to the love the children are giving them!

TERRIFIC THREES
  • Religion – We are continuing to learn about the many things we can do because God loves us and made us so wonderfully!  Most recently, we have learned that we can work, make things and feel.
  • Literacy –  We are to play games and complete activities to review our names and the letters in our names.  We’ve been getting our fingers ready to write by using model magic, lacing, tracing and placing stickers.
  • Math – We continue to practice counting to 20, and identifying colors and shapes.  We have also done some sorting activities.
  • Science we have been raising caterpillars and observing the life cycle of butterflies.  Our tiny caterpillars are beginning to emerge from their chrysalises.   Our flowers are doing great and are growing quickly, thanks to the love the children are giving them!

GRADUATION
On Graduation Day, children will arrive as normal.  They do not need to bring anything with them.  We will provide a morning snack and drink for all students that day.  The children will be dismissed following graduation.
When you arrive for Graduation, please park in the area in front of the church and enter by the main doors.  Pews will be labeled for each family, and I will provide seating information to you beforehand.
Our plan is to have all guests of each child sitting together.  Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.
After Graduation, the children will process out and you may pick them up in the back of the church and head outside for pictures.  In order to limit groups forming, we will take a picture of Miss Anita and I with each child before Graduation begins.  We will be sure each family receives a copy.

IMPORTANT DATES
  • May 13 – Last day for PreK3
  • May 14 – PreK 4 Graduation will be at 10:30 AM in the Church.  Students will be dismissed directly after.  I will have more information coming soon!
  • August 17 – TENTATIVE date for Parent Meetings.  The PreK 3 meeting will be at 6 PM & the Prek4 meeting will be at 7 PM.
  • August 25 – TENTATIVE first day of school for PreK 4
  • August 26 – TENTATIVE first day of school for PreK 3

REMINDERS & UPDATES
  • We will collect the tote bags for the children in Terrific Threes on the last day of school for use next year.
  • The weather is getting warmer!  Please be send your child with a water bottle to school.  Sneakers are still recommended since we will be playing outside or in the gym.  You may want to apply sun screen before arriving at school.  Unfortunately, we cannot apply it at school.
  • There is also important school information in the Shamrock Newsletter that is sent out each week.
