Happy St. Patrick's Day!

3/17/2021

Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day was so much fun!  The Fantastic Fours made hats for a leprechaun and he shrunk them, leaving a few gold coins underneath.  He also dropped off gold coins for the Terrific Threes.  We also celebrated our 2nd Mega-Shambucks Party!  We are working hard to remember to make green choices and get ourselves ready for more challenges in the next school year so my expectations are rising.
FANTASTIC FOURS
  • Religion – WE are learning that God Made Animals.  Our upcoming science units will help us learn more.
  • Literacy – We have completed the letters through letter V.  For each letter, we play “Roll, Say, Color,” build the letter with stickers and rainbow write the letter, along with a few other activities.  We’re enjoyed reading many St. Patrick’s Day themed books.
  • Math – We’ve been practicing counting to 30 and identifying numbers 0 – 20.  We also practiced completing patterns, and adding two numbers together.  The children are getting really good at these activities!
  • Science – We learned about wind and baby animals.   More activities can be found online at www.scholastic.com/mybigworld, just search for flower power.  Our classroom code is Shamrocks34.  Our flowers are doing great and are growing quickly, thanks to the love the children are giving them!

TERRIFIC THREES
  • Religion – We completed our unit “I Can Sing” and started a unit called “I Can   Laugh.”
  • Literacy –  We’ve been practicing recognizing and spelling our names, and drawing different types of lines to get ourselves ready for writing letters.  We introduced that the lines we’re practicing make letters.  We wrote letters I, L, H, T and others with straight lines.
  • Math – We continue to practice counting to 20, and identifying colors and shapes.  We have also done some sorting activities.

We’re having such great time celebrating Read Across America Day that we stretched it out all week!  We had art projects, read several Dr. Seuss books, a Dr. Seuss obstacle course, and Mr. Golden visited to read to us.  Be sure to check out ClassDojo and our website to see the pictures I will be posting!
FANTASTIC FOURS
  • Religion – Our science and religion unit again complimented each other, as we learned that God Made Flowers.
  • Literacy – We have completed the letters through letter T.  We will likely wrap up our individual alphabet units in a few weeks.  We introduced opposites this week.
  • Math – We’ve been practicing counting to 30 and identifying numbers 0 – 20.  We also practiced completing patterns, and adding two numbers together.  The children are getting really good at these activities!
  • Science – We learned about the life cycle and parts of flowers.  We will be planting our own flowers in class.
