.Our weeks have been very busy and seem to be flying by! This week we celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday. We learned that Johnny was a helper who loved God very much. We had apples for snack and made apple prints with paint.
We also completed our Religion unit, "I Can Feel." Most of the children loved playing in the shaving cream! What fun!
We began learning about the color blue this week. The children are really enjoying our blue song "Big Blue Whale!" You can find in the YouTube link below.

perfect as we completed our Religion unit, "God Made Helpers." We made homemade applesauce to celebrate Johnny Appleseed and shared it with Mr. Golden and our office staff. It was delicious!
We began learning about the letter C this week. I love this week because we get to paint cupcakes with our special puffy paint after we read If You Give a Cat a Cupcake. We will complete our letter C activities next week with Rainbow Writing and a few other activities in our Smart Books.
We discovered a fun new game on www.abcya.com called "Fuzz Bugs." This has been a great way to practice sorting, counting and comparing. When we complete the game, we get to create our own Fuzz Bug!
We hope everyone enjoyed Pirate Week as much as we did! We tried some new activities this year and had so much fun! We played "Shark Attack" to practice identifying colors and shapes. Our fingers got a workout gluing shapes into our treasure chests. Of course, the Pirate Dance Party and obstacle course were a huge hits!
In religion, we learned that we can feel. Mostly, we use our hands to feel, but we can feel all over our bodies. God is good to give us a way to enjoy the warm sun, soft pajamas, and cold ice cream (just to name a few). Having a sense of touch is also good because it can help to keep us safe. Next week, we will complete our "I Can Feel" unit with some messy fun!
We completed our yellow color activities. We completed a new activity this week which involved following directions carefully. We also made yellow bracelets.
Next week is all about apples and Johnny Appleseed!

We completed our letter B activities and introduced the letter C on Friday. Next week, we will complete a fun art project and learn more about the letter C.
Welcome back for another fun week with our youngest friends!
This week we learned that we can smell in Religion lessons. God made many things that smell beautiful for us to enjoy! Of course, some things don't smell very good, but they can help warn us of danger. We have a few more fun scented activities planned for next week before we move onto our next unit.
We also continued to review colors and shapes. This week, we focused on the color yellow. We sorted stickers by size in our Smart Books, practiced snipping yellow paper, sang "The Yellow Song" many times and searched for yellow objects in our classroom. We have one or two more yellow activities to complete next week before we begin exploring a new color.
Having a new Epson Projector has been great! We are able to complete our calendar and weather activities with it, use it to project our songs and play games. We've practiced identifying colors, shapes, counting and played color bingo.
We've had another busy, fun-filled week of learning with the Fantastic Fours!
In religion, we learned that God made our friends. We discussed that we can be good friends by making "green choices." We also learned that Jesus had several good friends who helped to share God's love with others. We can be like Jesus' friends too when we are polite, kind and loving toward others.
We concentrated on the letter B this week. We worked in our Smart Books and played games to identify the beginning sound of the letter B. The children really enjoyed singing the B song! We also used our new scented pencils to practice writing the letter B.
Having a new Epson Projector has been great! We are able to complete our calendar and weather activities with it, use it to project our songs and play games. We've reviewed colors and shapes, and practiced our counting and rhyming skills using online games.
We also enjoyed singing songs in Music class with Mrs. Pugliese. The favorite game seems to be "Who's that Hiding Underneath the Blanket?" We played "Skyscrapers and Tourists" in Physical Education class with Mrs. Bortner to practice using our personal space. Mrs. Oliver read a funny book to us. It was a spoof on Goldy Locks and the Three Bears. We identified the bad manners the characters used and told what we should do instead.
This week was eventful! The children enjoyed painting at the easel,
playing in the playground and having a special puppet story time!
In religion, we learned that we can see. God made many wonderful things for us to see and enjoy! The children made a graph of their eye color. We were able to count and discuss the results.
We completed our color red activities. We sorted red stickers by size and painted red objects on the easel. We introduced the color yellow with a new song and adding stickers to our Smart Books. We also reviewed the other colors and several shapes with SmartBoard games.
Miss Anita and Miss Nancy told the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children took turns acting out the parts of the characters with puppets.
We had a short week due to Labor Day, but I hope everyone enjoyed the extra day off!
This week we learned that God made friends. We practiced being good friends by giving compliments and helping each other. We also reviewed our Green Choices and learned that good friends make Green Choices.
We completed our letter A activities and introduced the letter B. The B Song is one of my favorites and the children seemed to enjoy it as well! We played a new game called "Roll, Say, Color" to practice the beginning B sound.
We introduced the number 1 this week with a new song. We completed a following directions exercise and could count 1 of each object in the picture.
We practiced personal space with Mrs. Bortner in Physical Education. Mrs. Oliver read a book about manners to us during library time. She reminded us that using good manners is a Green Choice.
We split our class into two groups for Technology. The first group attended their first class with Mrs. Dixon while the second group played learning games with me. Next week we will switch.
