We have been so busy learning and having fun that I completely forgot to post last week. My apologies! Here's a brief recap of what we have been up to:
We are learning that we can help and we can clean. We made "Helping Hearts" to show how we can help and played Spider Pick-Up to show how we can clean. The children help us to clean everyday when they put their toys away.
We have been working on Halloween themes. We counted the legs on "creepy crawlers" and sorted them into spiders and insects. We practiced colors by playing "Tangled Toss." We read There Was a Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything and re-enacted the story. We tore paper and made mummies. And of course, we practiced our Halloween songs!
This week we are learning that God made music. We can use music to praise God. We are learning the song "Jesus Loves Me" and the sign language to use with it.
We also learned all about the letter F. The letter F is for St. Francis. We learned The F Song and the how to sign it. We played many games with the f sound and practiced writing the letter f.
We have been working hard to practice our Halloween songs and can't wait to share them with you!
I promise to catch up on pictures this week! I know you're excited to see your children in action!
We can help! We can be like Jesus and help others. We also had cupcakes to celebrate Pro-Life Cupcake Day. We learned that God wants us to take good care of our selves and pray for others.
We celebrated Fire Prevention Week. We learned new songs teaching us about 911. We practiced how to crawl low and stop, drop and roll in fun games. We made headbands and fire safety posters. We read Miss Mingo and the Fire Drill and practiced having a fire drill in school. We also read Firefighter Ted.
God made Churches! God loves us very much and gave us churches as a place to gather together and pray. We also had cupcakes to celebrate National Pro-Life Cupcake Day. We learned that God wants us to take care of our selves and pray for others.
We completed our letter D activities.
We celebrated Fire Prevention Week. We made headbands, played musical Stop, Drop and Roll, sang songs to learn about calling 911, and read Miss Mingo and the Fire Drill, and Firefighter Ted. We had practice fire drills in school.
As always, our three year old friends kept busy learning and having fun!
First we wrapped up our Pirate Theme. We counted gold coins that we found in our sand table, sang pirate songs, painted a pirate map and just had to walk the plank one more time!
We learned that God gave us a mouth so we can taste. We had a yummy apple taste testing for snack and then colored an apple picture to match our favorite. We made a Johnny Appleseed Day craft and practiced positional words by playing "Where is Worm?" We have more apple fun planned for next week!
Wow! We enjoyed one of our first full weeks of school! This week, we completed our Community Helper theme. God is wonderful to give us helpers! We read Everyone Works and learned that we can show God our love by helping others too! On Friday, we dressed up as helpers. Everyone was adorable! We also wrapped up our letter c activities. We practiced our C song and how to write the letter C. We read If You Give a Cat a Cupcake and painted our own cupcakes with puffy paint. We also spent a lot of time practicing rhyming. This is a skill we will continue to practice!
We also celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day. We tried different colored apples and made an apple craft to show our favorite. The craft helped us practice using scissors as well. We visited the computer lab and completed a few apple themed activities on the smart board.
* Parent-Teacher conferences are Friday, Oct. 4th. Children do not have class that day.
