FANTASTIC FOURS
Religion – We learned that God made our Church families and that God made Churches.  We will be taking a “field trip” to St. Joseph Church in the very near future.
Literacy – We worked on the letter E.  We’ve been working on fine motor skills to improve our coloring and writing.  We will be making directed drawing for Halloween.
Math – We practiced counting to 20 and completing patters.  We also learned how to read a simple recipe and practiced identifying numbers by “making” Dinosaur Stew.
Science – We started learning about pumpkins.  We investigated some pumpkins in the classroom and carved on for Halloween.  There are a few good games to play at www.scholastic.com/mybigworld.  Our class code is Shamrocks34.
Social Skills --  We are trying something new with encouraging “Green Choices.”  We are awarding tickets for green choices.  Once a child reaches 5 tickets, he/she receives a note home with a lollypop.  We may mix up prizes from time to time, but right now the class seems excited about this new activity and have been working very hard to make more green choices!

TERRIFIC THREES
Religion – We learned that we can touch.
Literacy – We’ve been working on our fine motor skills to get ready to write.  We made sticker collages for the letter green, colored a picture, painted paper pumpkins and drew “candles.”
Math – We studied the color green.  We made sticker collages and learned “The Green Song.”  We also made our green bracelets.
Science – We started learning about fall and pumpkins.  We took a nature walk to look for signs of fall.  We investigated a few pumpkins in our classroom and carved one for Halloween.  There are a few good games to play at www.scholastic.com/mybigworld.  Our class code is Shamrocks34.

HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS
Students may wear a costume for our Halloween celebrations.  Please have them wear play clothes under their costumes in case they want to change.  Please do not sent props and no toy weapons may be brought.  We will have activities in the classroom and I will try to post pictures.
The Sign Up Genius looks like it is full, so thank you!!!  You may still send treats for your child to hand out if you like.  There are 22 children in Fantastic Fours and 18 children in Terrific Threes.

REMINDERS
Please make sure your child’s name is inside his/her jackets, hats, gloves, etc.  It is also very helpful if you work with your child to learn how to pull the sleeves out and practice putting on, taking off and zipping their jackets.
Please have hair tied back for girls in the Fantastic Fours on Wednesdays for Physical Education class.
If you haven’t already done so, please join ClassDojo!  I post more specific updates and pictures there.
Students need to wear sneakers or tennis shoes. P
lease send a morning snack and water bottle with your child.  Your child needs a snack even if he/she is buying lunch.
n Ice Cream Fridays, please send money in an envelope with your child’s name and “Ice Cream” on the front.  Please put the envelope (and anything else you would like me to see) in your child’s folder.
