Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! There is a lot of information about our upcoming Christmas activities, so please bear with me. We are in the season of Advent, and the children are learning the true meaning of Christmas. We’ve been doing many fun activities and crats to prepare, but we have also been focusing on getting our hearts ready to celebrate Baby Jesus’ birthday! I encourage the children to be extra kind, helpful and make as many “green choices” as they can. These acts of love are a perfect gift for Jesus!
Flash Card Friday –Writing in the Sand
Pour some salt, sugar, sand, etc. into a small tray or paper plate. Place the flashcards face down beside your child. Have him/her draw the shape or write the letter or number in the tray. For holiday extra fun, add sprinkles and use a candy cane to draw/write.
Christmas Show Recording
The Fantastic Fours will be recording their Christmas songs next Wednesday, December 16th. Mrs. Pugliese has asked them all to wear their Christmas clothes. However, we still have gym class that day, so please have them wear sneakers with their outfits or pack sneakers for them to change into.
The Terrific Threes will record on December 22nd with me.
Grinch Day/Christmas Celebrations
We will have our Grinch Day and Christmas Celebrations on December 22 & 23. The children may wear pajamas to school. I suggest leggings under nightgowns for girls. All children should still wear sneakers as we will have gym class or be playing outside. The children may bring cards/treat to hand out to each other. All treats should be individually packaged from the store. Please do not address these items to each child. Instead, you can put “To My Friend,” or something similar and sign it from your child.
We are also looking for families willing to donate plates, napkins, sweet treats, chips/pretzels, and applesauce pouches for our celebrations. Food items need to be individually packaged and sealed from the store. We currently have 18 children in Fantastic Fours and 7 in Terrific Threes. The links to sign up are on Class Dojo and have been emailed.
