Terrific ThreesWe've had a fantastic time celebrating Dr. Seuss! We read The Tooth Book, The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, The Sneetches and Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? The children came to school in red shirts and had their pictures taken as Things. We practiced our rhyming skills and Mr. Golden visited to read to us. In religion, we completed our unit, "I Can Move." We learned that like Miriam, we can dance to praise God. We really enjoyed dancing to and singing "This Little Light of Mine." We have been working on reviewing shapes and colors, identifying our names, rhyming, counting to 10, tracing slanted lines and following directions. I'm very proud of how hard the children are working to acquire new skills! Fantastic FoursWe've had a fantastic time celebrating Dr. Seuss! We read The Tooth Book, The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, The Sneetches and Hop on Pop. The children came to school dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss character and we took silly pictures.. We practiced our rhyming skills and Mrs. Oliver visited to read to us. In religion, we completed our unit, "God Made Weather." We watched the water cycle by hanging a plastic baggie with water in the window. Hopefully, we will have some sunny days and be able to observe it more clearly. This week, we focused on the letter P. We played "Roll, Say, Color," practiced tracing and writing Pp, and identifying words with the beginning sound /p/. We have also been working on reviewing the alphabet, identifying our last names, rhyming, and counting to 100. By the end of the year, all of the children should be able to count to at least 20, but we have a fun song that counts to 100. I'm very proud of how hard the children are working to acquire new skills!
