Making our Mardi Gras hats and parading through the school was fun! Of course, the donuts were the best part!
We had many activities for St. Valentine's Day too. We made heart trees and decorated our treat bags, which made us work our little fingers! We also played a new game called "Whose Valentine?" The goal is to help students learn to recognise their written name. They did a great job the first time through! On Thursday, we enjoyed a special treat and passed out our valentines. Thank you to everyone who brought something to share! Give your hearts a hug!

In religion, we learned that St. Valentine was a friend of God's and we can love others too. We also learned that Ash Wednesday begins Lent. During Lent, we want to become closer to God by praying and doing nice things. We want to change into butterflies like the caterpillar in The Very Hungary Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
We had a student visitor on Monday. I am so proud of how the children welcomed her! They included her in our activities and invited her to play with them. Great job sharing God's love! Give your hearts a hug!
Our letter activities this week were all about the letter M. We had moon sand in our sensory bins, learned the M song, and practiced making an M and m with marbles, pattern blocks, on white boards and on paper. We met St. Martin and learned that he loved to help others.
Since we didn't have physical education class on Wednesday, we went to the computer lab and played math games for St. Valentine's Day. The children are learning so much! Kiss your brains!
Miss Keffer read some funny Valentines Day poems and a book called I Know a Bold Lady Who Wanted a Star during story time on Friday.
