What a busy, fun-filled week! We focused many of our learning activities around the winter weather. Maybe one of these days we will get some snow (just not too much!)
In religion, we learned that we can pray. Praying is talking to God. In preschool, we pray 3 times every morning. When do you pray at home?
We are learning all about circles! We used circles to make adorable snowmen and traced a giant snowball. We also learned the nursery rhyme "Three Little Kittens" and played a color game with mittens.
* Snack money for January is now due.
* We are now re-registering 3-year-old preschool students for our 4-year-old program next
year. We are hoping to be able to provide a morning and afternoon session. If you have
not already done so, please let Miss Jessica or Miss Anita know if you have a preference
between morning or afternoon. Registration forms and fee are due by February 8th.
What a busy, fun-filled week! We focused many of our learning activities around the winter weather and the letter K. Maybe one of these days we will get some snow (just not too much!)
In religion we learned that God made light. Light helps us in many ways. God gave us light because he loves us.
We started learning about the letter K and its sound. We met Blessed Kateri, learned that K makes the sound as in kite and kind, danced to the K song to learn how to make the letter K, and used pattern blocks to form a K.
We played a pattern game wit mittens and tried to guess what would come next. The children also took turns at the lego boards making patterns. The children did very well with these activities!
On Friday, we had computer class. We used the interactive whiteboard to complete our Let's Find Out! issue for this week and learn more about the letter K. Then the children went to individual computers to practice clicking and dragging with the mouse. They made cute snowmen on www.abcya.com which you can see here.
I think the most fun of all, was making and playing in the "snow dough!" We made a HUGE mess but had fun and got a great sensory experience.
* Snack money for January is due.
* There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 21 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
* Conferences will be available on Friday, February 8. If you would like a conference, please
complete and return the form to Miss Jessica by January 25. Kindergarten
registration will also be February 8th, so you can do both in one day!
