Hopefully everyone is returning from a wonderful Christmas vacation! Since we came back, we had two a short but busy weeks. We have continued to practice being kind to each other and learned that God made us so we can talk. People who do not hear very well can use sign language to talk. We should use our voices to praise him, be polite and be kind to others. We practiced ways to do this with puppets. We also learned how to say "please", "thank you", and "I love you" in sign language.
We read I Know a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow and then made fake snow. We reviewed shapes by making a snowman face with circles and an ice castle with triangles, squares and rectangles.
We had a great first week back! We learned that God made light and the song Rise and Shine.
We learned to identify the letter L and its sound and how to write it. We "met" St. Lucy and practiced lacing.
We read The Snow Day and made our own snowy day pictures with snow paint. We also read Tacky the Penguin and I Know a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow. We introduced some new Spanish weather words.
In gym class we practiced kicking by playing "Clean Your Yard."
