Happy Friday! It was a busy, busy week! The children learned that they can care in our Religion lessons. We discussed how God gave us a beautiful world and wants us to take care of it and the things we own.
We also started learning about the color purple this week. We read Harold and the Purple Crayon, and made our own purple drawings, just like Harold! We also began learning the nursery rhyme "Little Jack Horner." We played a sharing game and pulled out other foods from out "pie." It was silly and fun to see what kind of crazy pies we had! This was also excellent practice of good manners!
We had some puppet fun too, reenacting The Three Billy Goats Gruff!
We had a busy, busy week! In religion, we learned that God made the Bible. We learned that the Bible is God's word to us, a special gift because He loves us. We have been reading a story each day from our Children's Bible.
We had a fun week learning about the letter H and its sound. We played "Roll Say Color." The children are becoming coloring experts! We also learned The H Song and how to make an Hh in sign language. Next week, we will begin learning about the letter Ii.
We also learned about the number 5. We read Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed and played a counting game with "Old Mother Hubbard." I will send home a copy of the game and instructions next week.
We found a silly little song on YouTube to watch as we wound down the week Friday. It is called the Duck Song. I posted the link below if you want to view it. Be warned, we only watched it one and it was stuck in my head all afternoon!
