In religion we completed our chapter on the sense of taste. We are so thankful to God for the gift of our senses!
We started learning a new nursery rhyme, "Jack and Jill." Children colored a picture of the nursery rhyme and practiced counting to 10.
We also completed our unit on the color green. We played I Spy to find green objects in the room and colored our green book.
Using black paint and stampers, we turned our pumpkins from the hallway into jack-o-lanterns! Miss Jessica hung them back in the hallway and will send them home closer to Halloween.
The weather is getting "coldy," as one of our friends told us when we took our weather report this week. Please make sure your child is dress approppriately for outside play. We will continue to have recess outside as long as the weather stays warm enough. The children love playing outside!
We started learning about our Church Family in religion. Our new chapter taught us that we should love others like Jesus did.
On Wednesday, we started learning about the letter Dd. We are learning to identify it, write it and make its sound. We searched through our names forthe letter d, and only found two! We helped Dotty find her doll by identify pictures with the /d/ sound. We also met St. Dominic, a man who loved God very much. Miss Jessica brought us special dinosaur cookies to celebrate her birthday. The letter d fun will continue next week!
Miss Jessica taught us a new game called "Who Stole the Pumpkin?" It is helping us to learn to identify our names and is a lot of fun!
Other fun events included physical education class with Mrs. Bortner on Wednesday and visiting the computer lab on Friday. Mrs .Bortner helped us get our hearts pumping and the wiggles out with fun dances. In the computer lab, we played a fire safety game. You can also see a video clip of us singing our fire safety song below. We sure are getting smart when it comes to fire prevention! Kiss your brain! We also had time to go to www.abcya.com and decorate pumpkins! You can see them in a Word document here.
The weather has been unpredictable lately, but please try to make sure your child is dress approppriately for outside play. We will continue to have recess outside as long as the weather stays warm enough. The children love playing outside!
