Welcome back for another fun week with our youngest friends!
This week we learned that we can smell in Religion lessons. God made many things that smell beautiful for us to enjoy! Of course, some things don't smell very good, but they can help warn us of danger. We have a few more fun scented activities planned for next week before we move onto our next unit.
We also continued to review colors and shapes. This week, we focused on the color yellow. We sorted stickers by size in our Smart Books, practiced snipping yellow paper, sang "The Yellow Song" many times and searched for yellow objects in our classroom. We have one or two more yellow activities to complete next week before we begin exploring a new color.
Having a new Epson Projector has been great! We are able to complete our calendar and weather activities with it, use it to project our songs and play games. We've practiced identifying colors, shapes, counting and played color bingo.
We've had another busy, fun-filled week of learning with the Fantastic Fours!
In religion, we learned that God made our friends. We discussed that we can be good friends by making "green choices." We also learned that Jesus had several good friends who helped to share God's love with others. We can be like Jesus' friends too when we are polite, kind and loving toward others.
We concentrated on the letter B this week. We worked in our Smart Books and played games to identify the beginning sound of the letter B. The children really enjoyed singing the B song! We also used our new scented pencils to practice writing the letter B.
Having a new Epson Projector has been great! We are able to complete our calendar and weather activities with it, use it to project our songs and play games. We've reviewed colors and shapes, and practiced our counting and rhyming skills using online games.
We also enjoyed singing songs in Music class with Mrs. Pugliese. The favorite game seems to be "Who's that Hiding Underneath the Blanket?" We played "Skyscrapers and Tourists" in Physical Education class with Mrs. Bortner to practice using our personal space. Mrs. Oliver read a funny book to us. It was a spoof on Goldy Locks and the Three Bears. We identified the bad manners the characters used and told what we should do instead.
