Our littlest friends have been very busy this week learning about our sense of touch in Religion, the color yellow and Johnny Appleseed. We had fun learning the new "Yellow Song" and playing gmaes with the color yellow. We experimented with different textures and are planning many other sensory experiences next week. We made a Johnny Appleseed craft and watched a short YouTube clip about him.
Overall, our friends are following our routines more easily. We are working hard on sharing toys and remembering to say "please" and "thank you." Sharing circles are a fun way to practice! To have a sharing circle at home, grab an object (anything will do), and sit on the floor. One person starts by holding the "truck". The one to the right, says "May I please have truck." The person holding the truck says "Yes" and gives it to the person asking. The new person with the truck says "Thank you." This continues until everyone has had a turn with the truck.
We had a fun week learning this week! In religion, we learned that God Made Helpers. Father Ryan stopped by and told us how priests help people. Johnny Appleseed was also a great helper! We read apple books and made a craft for Johnny Appleseed Day (which is September 26th). We started learning the nursery rhyme "Rub a Dub Dub."
We also learned about the letter Dd and its sound. We practiced the "D Song," painted a dinosaur, played "Roll Say Color," and several other fun games.
We wrapped up our activities with the number 2 and will be starting to learn aboutthe number 3 soon! The children are doing a great job counting to 20 each morning! Kiss your brains!
