It was a short week for our three year old friends, since school was closed on Thursday so that the teachers could attend the Education Conference. However, we were able to squeeze in a lot of learning and fun!
In religion, we continued to learn about the gift God gave us in our sense of smell. We tried to guess the scents of special markers.
We continued to work on the color orange. We brainstormed a list of things we might see in the fall that are orange and colored items that are orange in our orange book.
"Hey Diddle Diddle" continues to make us giggle! Cats playing fiddles, cows jumping over moons, forks and spoons running away...oh my!
Johnny Appleseed's birthday was on Wednesday, so to celebrate we had yummy apple slices for a snack on Tuesday. We also started making our apple trees. These will be completed next Tuesday.
Busy, busy, busy! Our four year old friends have been quite the busy "B"s! We have been learning all about the letter b and its sound. Did you know that no one in our class has the letter b in his/her first name? We played "balloon bump" and batted a balloon around naming things that start with the b sound. We helped Buzz Lightyear complete his mission to find all of the B and b's. We used beads to make beautiful fall necklaces and practiced writing Bb in shaving cream. Our saint for the letter B is St. Bernadette. She teaches us that even children can share God's love with others!
In religion, we are learning that God gave us friends. We can show friends that we love them by helping them, sharing and being polite. We created a special flower for a friend to show how much we love them! We are still working on our family trees. Please send us a list of your child's immediate family or other relatives that may live with him/her so we can complete these.
Johnny Appleseed's birthday was Wednesday. We used red tissue paper balls to decorate apples and had apple slices for a yummy snack! We also learned a new song about Johnny Appleseed. You can see it below. Enjoy!
