It has been another great week in the Terrific Threes class! These children are such a happy and excited group of learners! Just look at the smiles in the pictures! I also must tell you how very proud of the children I am for their warm welcome to our new friend! The children are working very hard on their social skills -- sharing and saying "please" and "thank you." Shine your halos!
In religion, we completed our unit "I Can Feel" with some sensory fun. We played in the shaving cream and practiced drawing lines and shapes. On Thursday, we introduced the unit "I Can Taste." To go along with both this religion unit and our color unit, we made "Yellow Mellow Butter" for a snacktime treat. It was a lot of fun and was very easy! Just put heavy whipping cream into a container with a screw top lid and shake until a yellow blob of butter forms. There will be a white liquid in the jar after the butter forms, just pout it out and spread the butter on your favorite bread, pancakes, etc. and enjoy!
We completed our yellow unit this week. We practiced our yellow song and had some fun with the 5 Little Ducks nursery rhyme. We used finger puppets to act out the rhyme and practice counting skills.
The Terrific Threes will have a Halloween event on Thursday, October 29th. We will begin at 8:30. The children may wear a costume to school with play clothes underneath. We will sing a few songs and trick or treat around the cafeteria. Feel free to bring a treat to hand out to the children as they pass.
This has been another great week in the Fantastic Fours class! These children are such a happy and excited group of learners! Just look at the smiles in the pictures!
This week, we learned that God made our Church family. In our Church families, God is our Father and Mary is our mother. This concept can often been difficult to understand, so don't be surprised of your little one has a few questions. The resource on the back of our chapter handout may help with any discussions that may arise.
We also completed our letter D activities and introduced the letter Ee on Wednesday. We started learning the E song and dance. We read a fun story about Elmer, who is a unique patchwork elephant, and we created our own special elephants, too.
We introduced the number 3 and the nursery rhyme "Three Blind Mice." In our version, the children learn to trace a number three by pretending to be a mouse. I'll be sending home our handouts on this next week.
To add even more fun, we have been playing rhyming games and practicing our Halloween songs. The Fantastic Fours will have a Halloween event on Friday, October 30th. We will begin at 8:30. The children may wear a costume to school with play clothes underneath. We will sing a few songs and trick or treat around the cafeteria. Feel free to bring a treat to hand out to the children as they pass.
