Our three year old friends continue to learn routines and prayers. They are becoming very comfortable in our classroom!
We have started our unit on the senses. This unit will run very closely to our first few religion chapters. This week, we learned that God blessed us with our sense of hearing.
We began learning the nursery rhyme "Hickory, Dickory, Dock." We practice tracing lines and holding our crayons correctly.
We couldn't have outside recess on Tuesday, due to rain, so we learned how to play Duck, Duck, Goose. This fun time also helped us to get to know each others' names!
Our first color is red! Students started their red paintings, we read "The Little Red Hen."
In religion, we learned that God made each of special. We can be God's shining stars by sharing His love with others. We decorated stars and used star stickers to make the first letter of our names.
We read "Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom" and retold the story using velcro letters that climed the coconut tree. Students discovered that their are letters in their names. We practiced tracing our names with pencil and with watercolors.
On Wednesday, we attended our first physical education class. Mrs. Bortner taught us how to keep personal space.
We had our first technology lesson with the interactive whiteboard. Students learned how to click and drag the interactive pen to make a sand portrait on www.itissand.com. They had a great time! I am hoping to be able to use the interactive whiteboard in the computer room frequently.
