This week was eventful! The children enjoyed painting at the easel,
playing in the playground and having a special puppet story time!
In religion, we learned that we can see. God made many wonderful things for us to see and enjoy! The children made a graph of their eye color. We were able to count and discuss the results.
We completed our color red activities. We sorted red stickers by size and painted red objects on the easel. We introduced the color yellow with a new song and adding stickers to our Smart Books. We also reviewed the other colors and several shapes with SmartBoard games.
Miss Anita and Miss Nancy told the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children took turns acting out the parts of the characters with puppets.
We had a short week due to Labor Day, but I hope everyone enjoyed the extra day off!
This week we learned that God made friends. We practiced being good friends by giving compliments and helping each other. We also reviewed our Green Choices and learned that good friends make Green Choices.
We completed our letter A activities and introduced the letter B. The B Song is one of my favorites and the children seemed to enjoy it as well! We played a new game called "Roll, Say, Color" to practice the beginning B sound.
We introduced the number 1 this week with a new song. We completed a following directions exercise and could count 1 of each object in the picture.
We practiced personal space with Mrs. Bortner in Physical Education. Mrs. Oliver read a book about manners to us during library time. She reminded us that using good manners is a Green Choice.
We split our class into two groups for Technology. The first group attended their first class with Mrs. Dixon while the second group played learning games with me. Next week we will switch.
