We were quite busy this week learning that God made us with a sense of smell and practicing skills in our Teddy Bear Picnic theme.
We filled a picnic basket with things we would need at a picnic and matched colors. Our teddy bears were very helpful this week! We reviewed our body parts and found them on our bears, too. We practiced positional words (up, down, beside, under, etc.). We painted a watermelon and added a tissue paper rine with fingerprint seeds. We colored teddy bears. We also read several stories, including This is the Teddy Bear and the Picnic Lunch, Corduroy, and From Head to Toe.
Next week is Pirate Week. Children can dress up in pirate clothes on Thursday to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day!
We had a lot of fun this week learning that God made our friends and all about the letter B.
We learned a new song that taught us how to write the letter Bb, make the sign for B and what sound the letter B makes. We played "Fill the Basket" and looked for items starting with the letter B in our classroom. We wrote the letter B on our white boards and papers. We learned the nursery rhyme "Little boy Blue" and painted hay stacks for a craft. We practiced cutting and crumpling paper. Our special bears were fun to read stories with, too!
