We recently were notified that BRYCE TRONE, Grade 7 won Level 3 in the 2014 Americanism Essay Contest. The contest was sponsored by the Harold H. Bair American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14 and the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Pennsylvania. CONGRATULATIONS TO BRYCE ! We are very proud of Bryce's great achievement! Bryce has been asked to read his essay on April 28th at the American Legion's 8th Grade Awards Program which will be held at the American Legion Post #14.
Two other students were in the final selection group before the level winners were selected. They are: Kylie Funkhouser, Level 2 and Brayden Reeb, Level 3. Congratulations to Kylie Funkhouser and Brayden Reeb!

CONGRATULATIONS TO CATHERINE APGAR !!! She has qualified to represent our school in the State Level of the National Geographic Bee. The Bee will take place at the State Museum of Pennsylvania, located in Harrisburg, on Friday, April 4, 2014.
We will all be cheering and praying for Catie as she prepares for the event and throughout the competition. We are so very proud of you, Catie!!! This year students from Saint Joseph School, Hanover entered the AMVETS Post No. 22 Annual Americanism Essay Contest.
Students from schools in the Hanover area wrote essays on what Americanism means to them. Two hundred, thirty-six students wrote essays for the contest. From those 236 entries, 9 prize winning essays were selected by a panel of present and retired teachers. Eight out of the nine winning essays were written by students of Saint Joseph School. Congratulations to our winners!
