On Thursday, September 12th, parents, teachers, and staff attended our "Back-to-School" meeting. Mrs. Annie Kilkelly, president of our Home and School Association, spoke about the fundraisers and many wonderful events that are planned for this school year. She related how our students have benefitted by the work of the Home and School Association over the years. She also asked parents to please volunteer their time and talents so that we can continue to provide great opportunities for the children.
Mrs. Dorffner then introduced our very dedicated, caring, and top-notch teachers and staff. We are blessed to have such fine role models for our children.
Monsignor Lyons thanked the members of the Home and School Association for their outstanding contributions to the school. Again, Saint Joseph's is blessed to have such a dynamic team to plan and provide this year's activities and events. Monsignor Lyons also spoke to parents concerning the new additions to the security systems of our school buildings, such as the new surveillance system at the elementary building, the additional door locks and dead bolts, and the alarmed exterior doors at both buildings. These additions make lock downs possible throughout the rooms and various areas of the buidings and surely increase security. We are grateful for the many blessings we share in our Saint Joseph School Community.
The meeting was well-attended. Attendance Awards were given to Grade 2 and Sister Sue, Grade 3 and Mrs. Lutz, and Grade 7 and Mrs. Mehring. Students whose parents attended will be awarded a "Dress-Down Day."
Mr. Terrance Golden
