On Friday, our school families enjoyed a wonderful, fun-filled time at our annual Fall Fest. The children had great fun as they participated in the costume contest, entered their best creations in the pumpkin decorating contest, danced with their friends to music played by our DJ, ate a delicious supper and snacks with their families, and then went Trick-or Treating. The event was a huge success! The children always look forward to this special time with their friends and family.
We thank all those who helped with this awesome event!
We thank Monsignor Lyons, Father Kelley and Ms. Pam McMaster for selecting the winners in the costume parade. Special Thanks goes to Amy Miller, Micki Schneider, and Betsy Ernst, the chairpersons of our social committee, who planned and provided the event. We also thank all the Home and School Committee Members, parent volunteers, teachers, and middle school students who helped at the event and to clean-up afterwards. We are blessed with many very generous, thoughtful, talented, and helpful people. Our children certainly benefit from the wonderful work we do at St. Joseph's.
We are very proud to announce that two of our St. Joseph graduates, Kathy Hernandez and Carolyn McGough are participating in this year's Miss Hanover Pageant. The pageant is being held Monday, October 27th at 7 pm at Hanover High School. Tickets are $12 per person and can be pre-purchased at Hanover Clothing or at the door on the evening of the event.
On Wednesday, October 8th, we invited the Grandparents of our students in Kindergarten, Grade 1 , and Grade 2 to celebrate Grandparents Day. We began the day with a program in which Mrs. Mummert welcomed Grandparents and thanked them for the many ways in which they help and support our students and Saint Joseph School. Next, our students provided a beautiful selection of songs and readings that reflected their love for their Grandparents. Then, the students led a Prayer Service in which they asked God for special blessings for their Grandparents and all members of their families.
Following the program, Grandparents visited the classrooms with their Grandchildren. Then, everyone went to the cafeteria where they enjoyed a homemade pot-pie dinner complete with Miss Pam's homemade cookies. After lunch and many hugs and kisses, the children said good-bye to their Grandparents.
We thank all Grandparents who joined us on this special day. As the children said, Grandparents are: Great, Responsible, Adored, Nice, Devoted, Patient, Awesome, Revered,
Everywhere, Nifty, Talented, Sincere...and WE LOVE YOU!!!
