Dear Parents & Guardians –
December is a special time of the year. You can feel it in the air and in the hearts of our children, as we prepare for Christmas. During the Advent season, please spend some extra time with your children in prayer and performing good deeds for others, as they are learning about the true meaning of Christmas, the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ.
To help us get into the Holiday Spirit, I wanted to invite you to our Christmas Program. The Kindergarten to Grade 8 program will be held next Wednesday, December 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the Social Hall. Our PreK-4 Program will be held on Monday, December 18th and the PreK-3 Program will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at 8:30 a.m. in the Social Hall.
Please do not forget to mark your calendar regarding our Christmas break. On Friday, December 22nd we will have an early dismissal. Dismissal time will be at 11:45 a.m. Please note that the C.A.R.E.S. program will NOT be available on that day. All students not being transported home by bus will need to be picked up by car at 11:45 a.m.
We will return from Christmas break on Tuesday, January 2nd for a full day of school.
With the winter season upon us, sometimes it is necessary to delay the opening of school or to close the school for the day because of the weather. Saint Joseph School will make necessary weather announcements via the One Call Now voice messaging system. We will also send out a message through the Remind text messaging system and place an announcement on our Saint Joseph School website (www.sjshanover.org).
If you have not received voice messages through the One Call Now system or text alerts through the Remind system, please contact the office at 717-632-0118 as soon as possible so that we can ensure that you will receive these messages in a timely manner.
On behalf of the Faculty and Staff of Saint Joseph School, I wish you in advance a Very Merry Christmas, and a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year!
Mr. Terrance H. Golden, M.Ed.
