On Wednesday, October 16th the Hanover Fire Department will present a fire safety program for our students at the Elementary School. This program was to be held on Friday, October 11th, however it was cancelled because of the early dismissal due to local flooding that day.
Each year, our Hanover firemen create and perform a special skit for the children that explains fire safety rules and demonstrates good procedures, such as how to exit your house safely and how to establish a family meeting place. Of course, Helmet, the fire dog, participates in the skits. Helmet captures the children's attention and adds wonderful humor to this very valuable learning experience which helps the children focus on and remember the safety skills.
Then, on Friday, October 18th, our Home and School Association will provide the Fall Festival for our school families. In this event, the children enjoy supper with their family, participate in a costume parade, dance to the music provided by a DJ, and have "Trick-or-Treat" throughout the hallways of the Parish Hall. The Fall Festival is always great fun for our students and their parents. We hope you will join us for this special event!
