Dear Parents & Guardians –
We are now in full swing with our celebration of Catholic Schools Week. I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone that joined us for our opening Mass on Sunday morning and for coming to the Education Fair afterwards. It was a great way to start out our Catholic Schools Week. Our children are participating in a number of events throughout the week and you can feel the excitement that is in the air.
Today, our children are participating in the “Jump Rope for Heart” to benefit the American Heart Association. Our school goal this year was to raise $3,500. So far, we have raised over $5,000 for this cause. The top two students in this fundraising event have the privilege of cutting the hair of Father Ryan and Mrs. Maurer. Their hair will be donated to make wigs for Cancer Patients. Our students are also participating in a Bake Sale. The proceeds from the Bake Sale will be donated to the Sisters of Divine Mercy. These events help our children realize and actively participate in serving others.
Our students will be participating in the “Winter Olympics” tomorrow. They have been busy learning about the country they are representing, and will have fun participating in various activities. Also on the calendar for tomorrow is our Parent Luncheon and the H.S.A. Family Night Skating Party. We hope to see you tomorrow.
On Friday, we will celebrate our Catholic Schools Week Closing Mass at 8:30 a.m. Please come out and join us. After mass we will have an Open House from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Please join us for some light refreshments and invite others that may be considering a Catholic School Education for their children.
I also wanted to address a few issues In regards to the weather that we are having this winter. Please remember that we will be in session for a full day of school on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2018 to make-up for the day we were out of school. Also, please note that if we announce a delayed opening to school, and you live in a school district that does not call for a delay, please do not send your children in early that day (we cannot guarantee staffing at the school due to the local road conditions). If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
Mr. Terrance H. Golden, M.Ed.
